STORMBORN
Zenith
Rockshots Records
Release: 26 April 2024

Mar 13. 2024

Stormborn, the melodic heavy metal force hailing from Kent, UK, is poised to redefine the metal landscape with the release of their second album “Zenith”. Drawing inspiration from metal legends such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Dio, Stormborn melds classic elements with bold modern innovation, creating a unique sound that blazes its own trail in heavy metal.
Stormborn's journey began with their debut album, after which they honed their craft through electrifying performances across the UK. Notable appearances include gigs at the legendary Intrepid Fox in London, where they caught the attention of luminaries like Herman Li from DragonForce and Mark Cross – ex-Helloween and Firewind. The band earned prestigious slots supporting Rob Chapman's Dorje and Phil X & The Drills on a UK tour in 2013.
Career highlights also include supporting Rhapsody of Fire at the Camden Underworld in 2023, winning the 2012 Metal 2 the Masses for London, and playing at renowned festivals like Bloodstock and Summer Breeze.
Stormborn's upcoming release, “Zenith” represents a significant evolution in their sound. Described as a fusion of heavy and technical elements, the album retains a strong melodic essence, showcasing the band's commitment to crafting songs within the ferocious energy of their compositions. The album, meticulously composed for a seamless listening experience, invites fans to settle down with good headphones or speakers to get lost in its intricate composition.
The songs on “Zenith” are a mix of compositions from previous years, recent creations, and even a reworking of a childhood song titled "MegaFist." The album boasts a dynamic range, from the ferocious nature of most tracks to moments of melody and raw energy.
Concerning the lyrics, Stormborn draws inspiration from the world around them, history, personal thoughts and feelings, and sometimes pure imagination. While their music may be associated with power metal, the band distinguishes themselves with lyrics grounded in reality, often telling overt stories with underlying layers of meaning.
The evolution of Stormborn's sound is evident on “Zenith” with a progression toward heavier, faster, and more intricate compositions. The album, described as a journey through time, space, and emotion, signifies the band's maturity and artistic exploration.
“Zenith” is more than an album; it's a culmination of Stormborn's growth, experimentation, and dedication to producing music that resonates with both loyal fans and new listeners alike.

PUTERAEON
Quindecennial Horror (EP)
Emanzipation Productions
Radio Impact: 11 December 2023
Release: 8 March 2024

Mar 12. 2024

For fans of Grave, Demonical, Entombed

Now celebrating their 15th anniversary as a band, Swedish horror death metal stalwarts PUTERAEON don’t show any signs of slowing down or exploring new musical paths. Instead, they remain firmly in their bonecrushing Lovecraft-inspired death metal approach.

Coherent with this vision, the quartet looked back at their demos and debut album and re-recorded some of their old songs for this digital EP that celebrates a decade and a half of Chtulhian terror music, with the sound being mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö of Bloodbath and Edge Of Sanity fame. Five songs were chosen, from the first one Puteraeon ever written (“The Plague”, from their 2008 demo “Fascination For Mutilation” demo), until “Storm Over Devil’s Reef”, the opening track from the band’s 2011 debut album, with its rumbling intro and blasting velocity. “Whispers Of The Dead”, “Graverobber” (both from the second demo “The Requiem, released back in 2008), as well as “Dead Once More” (from the Re-Animator-inspired 2009 demo “The Extraordinary Work Of Herbert West”) complete “Quindecennial Horror”, with Puteraeon staring firmly at the abyss, while the abyss stares back at them.

“Quindecennial Horror” will be released in digital format via Emanzipation Productions on March 8th, 2024.

Lineup:
Daniel Vandija - bass
Anders Malmström - drums
Jonas Lindblood - vocals, guitars

KICKIN VALENTINA
Ride Or Die (single)
Mighty Music
Radio Impact: 27 February 2024
Release: 8 March 2024

Feb 27, 2024

For fans of Guns N’ Roses, AC/DC, Hardcore Superstar

About to release their new album, KICKIN VALENTINA shows once again they’re not a band to slow down. “Ride Or Die” is a plain hard/sleaze rock track, with a steamroller rhythm section, a gigantic hook in the chorus, and the band’s trademark storytelling in the lyrics.

A direct message put into song regarding the one person whom you would never forsake but instead go to the edge with... And in this case beyond”, Kickin Valentina explains, about the lyrics.

In April 2024, the world will be a bit less shitty, as Kickin Valentina will release their fourth full-length album titled “Star Spangled Fist Fight”. Ten bullets of loud, unapologetic rock’n’roll are fired aiming the hearts and jugulars of all hard rock fans with a sleaze rock fallout. And, with an almost cynical precision, the four guys in Kickin Valentina, knock each and every one of us with catchy choruses, indecently strong riffs and a sexy rhythm groove that’s almost pornographic.

Once again, the album was produced by Andy Reilly (UFO, Bruce Dickinson, Cradle of Filth) at Muse Productions in Atlanta, and mastered by Joel Wanasek. “It’s been way too long since our last album, and we are really excited about “Star Spangled Fist Fight.””, bassist Chris Taylor states. “I know every band says this, but I think this is our best album so far. Everything just seemed to click while we were writing it”.

Kickin Valentina still plays the proverbial loud unapologetic rock’n’roll in 2024, as the band enters the second decade of its existence. Except that “Star Spangled Fist Fight” is a bit louder and a bit more unapologetic.

Formed in 2013, the Americans quickly gained attention in the U.S. and abroad. They were immediately picked up by Atlanta-based indie label Highway 9 Records and released their debut self-titled EP in October 2013. In August 2015 Kickin Valentina signed with Danish hard rock/metal label Mighty Music, and has released since then three successful full-length albums - “Super Atomic,” “Imaginary Creatures,” “Revenge of Rock” - and an EP titled “Chaos in Copenhagen” to rave reviews around the world.

Their album “Imaginary Creatures” debuted on 5 different Billboard charts (Heatseeker Albums #16, Heatseekers South Atlantic #5, Independent Albums #30, Hard Rock Album Sales #11, and Rock Album Sales #42), and the single “Crazy” reached #15 on the Danish iTunes rock charts. “Revenge of Rock” debuted at #6 on the Danish vinyl chart, and “Chaos in Copenhagen” debuted at #27 on Denmark’s top 100 album sales chart.

“Star Spangled Fist Fight” will be released on LP (black vinyl, limited to 500 copies), digipack CD and digital formats via Mighty Music on April 19th, 2024.

JUNKYARD DRIVE
Saw You Hanging There (single)
Mighty Music
Radio Impact: 19 February 2024
Release: 1 March 2024

Feb 23, 2024

For fans of The Hellacopters, Rival Sons, Danko Jones

JUNKYARD DRIVE is now ready with the second single from their forthcoming album, “Look At Me Now”.

"Saw You Hanging There" is yet another proof that the well-known hard rock band also possesses intimacy and depth in their songwriting, which is expressed in this ballad, which explores various dimensions. The track is introduced with a fragile and heartfelt sound, which evolves into an epic and bombastic rock ballad.

"In the dreamscape, a poignant meeting unfolds between an estranged father and son”, guitarist Oliver Hartmann says about the song. “It's a brief glimpse into the process of experiencing parental absence, seen through the innocent eyes of a child”.

Junkyard Drive is more energetic than ever before. The new album, with the title “Look At Me Now”, presents a band with new energy and inspiration.

Since 2014, Junkyard Drive has been determined to be the band that provides the soundtrack to life in the fast lane with the audience as passengers. Every time! With three critically acclaimed albums, lots of concerts and tours in most of the world, they have tried more than most Danish rock bands. Now their fourth album is on the way, and the goal has changed.

On “Look At Me Now”, Junkyard Drive rolls out ten high-octane rock tracks, delivered with flair, precision and lots of energy. One is tempted to say renewed energy, because even though Junkyard Drive are largely recognizable on the ten tracks that will be released in April, it is in many ways a changed band that delivers them. A few changes in the line-up and a much-needed look inside the internal relationships have restored focus and renewed the joy of playing. “Look At Me Now” welcomes two new guitarists: Oliver Hartmann and Kristoffer Kristensen. Both come with experience from genres other than rock, and that brings new ideas to the table during the songwriting process.

Since we released “Electric Love” in 2022, we have gone through a process that can be heard in the new tracks”, lead singer Kristian Johansen offers. “We are tired of rock music always being put in the booth with draft beer and festivity. We want to show that rock music can develop and that it can contain sensitivity and depth. That’s why we had to go inside ourselves, to write texts that were more honest and that have something more at heart. When you go into yourself, you also have to come face to face with your own weaknesses. It can be a hard, but also very learning process. We have experienced that it has also taken a toll on the band’s internal relationships as you go through topics that can be tough, but we are incredibly proud to have gone through the process, because the lyrics and sound we have created have more layers than we have previously performed”.

“Look At Me Now” was produced by Soren Andersen (Glenn Hughes, Thundermother) and will be released in LP (black and red vinyl editions, the latter being limited to 500 units) CD and digital formats on April 12th, 2024.

Lineup:

Feb 23, 2024

After announcing their new album "VIII", Norwegian progsters VICINITY will now release a new digital single - the second - from the upcoming record. "Distance" is the chosen song this time. A direct, riff-based track, with a verse almost leaning into synthwave. The lyrical theme dwells on some of the darker tendencies of the human psyche. The song leans both into traditional prog metal bands like Threshold, as well as newer acts like Haken.  Check out the "Distance" digital single, or the official video of the song on Uprising Records Youtube page here. The video premiered earlier today.

"VIII" will be released on double LP (black vinyl), CD and digital formats via Uprising Records on March 8th, 2024. Pre-orders are available
here.

Out of Trondheim, on the cold shores of Norway, Vicinity has been crafting their mix of progressive metal, melodies and sophisticated rhythm patterns since 2006. Now reaching their third studio album, the five-piece has reached the perfect mix in their sound. "VIII" is a mature progressive metal album, with a fresh approach to composition.  Putting new influences to work in their already highly rich melting pot of references, "VIII" is a collection of progressive metal songs where the Norwegians drifted to a heavier, more concise sound than in the previous releases. The final result can please traditional prog fans of bands such as Threshold, as well as followers of newer acts such as Haken. Mixing duties in "VIII" were handled by Øyvind Voldmo Larsen (Seventh Wonder, Circus Maximus, Withem) and mastering was done at Fascination Street Studios by Tony Lindgren (Ihsahn, James LaBrie, Leprous, Opeth).  Vicinity was founded in 2006 by Kim-Marius H. Olsen, Frode Lillevold and Kristian Nergård. Vocalist Alexander K. Lykke soon joined the blend making the first complete lineup. With the EP "Diffusion of Innovation", the band's first official release, Vicinity found its true style, writing longer, more technical progressive compositions.  In 2012 the band recorded their debut full-length album, "Awakening", making this the debut recording of the new bass player Pierre Schmidt-Melbye, who joined the band following Nergård's departure in 2009. Reidulf Wormdal joined the recording as a session keyboard player. The album was mixed by André Alvinzi and mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios, and was released by Indie Distribution and Pug-Nose Records in the fall 2013.  In 2015 Vicinity went to work with their new album "Recurrence" which was released by Mighty Music in 2017. The drums were recorded at Skarp Studio, known for producing the drums for bands like Triosphere and Keep of Kalessin. Christer-André Cederberg, known for mixing Nine and Havoc for Circus Maximus and several releases by Anathema was enlisted to mix the album. Jens Bogren once again handled mastering duties. Following the release, Vicinity played concerts in Trondheim and Oslo, and was booked to play festivals like Prøvesprengning and Totsås Rock.  Preparations for the upcoming album started in 2020 at Skansen Lydstudio, but further progress was impaired partly by Covid and the fact that, after 15 years in the band, Lykke decided in 2022 to pursue other interests and in agreement with the band decided to part ways. Vicinity tried out vocalist Erling Malm (Articulus, Endolith) at a live show in Trondheim, and decided then and there that he would be the vocalist going forward, and he immediately started working on vocals for "VIII", adding more diversity to the singing department of the band.

Lineup:
Frode Lillevold - drums
Erling Malm - vocals
Ivar A. Nyland – keyboards
Kim-Marius H. Olsen - guitars
Pierre-Nicolai H. Schmidt-Melbye - bass

BLAZING ETERNITY to release comeback album in April

Feb 22, 2024

The Danish doom/gothic metal combo BLAZING ETERNITY is back with a new album. "A Certain End Of Everything" – to be released on April 19th, 2024 - is the first new album since 2003 from one of Denmark's pioneer bands within the melodic doom/goth metal genre.  "A Certain End Of Everything" consists of seven new tracks, including the already released first single "One Thousand Lights". The music has the well-known Blazing Eternity atmosphere and fingerprint – a melancholic, epic and atmospheric doom/gothic metal mix with weeping guitars and harsh vocals. The album is bleak and melancholic, but with a certain beauty shining in the darkness – and with very personal lyrics dealing with death, depression, and personal tragedies. But with a gleam of hope in the end...  Will appeal to fans of early Katatonia, My Dying Bride and Paradise Lost.  "A Certain End Of Everything" was written and arranged by original members Peter Mesnickow, Morten Kroll Lybecker and Lars Riis Korsholm – with additional synth arrangements by Flemming Kaspersen from electronic act Delayscape.  "A Certain End Of Everything" will be released on LP (black vinyl), digipack CD and digital formats on April 19th, 2024 via Mighty Music. Pre-orders are available here.

Stacks Image 50552

Blazing Eternity was formed in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1993 and released two successful demo tapes in 1996 and 1998 leading to a deal with German Prophecy Productions. This resulted in the two albums "Times And Unknown Waters" (2000) and "A World To Drown In" (2003) as well as performances on big festivals such as Roskilde Festival and Wave Gotik Treffen.  After 2004, the band was not active anymore – until 2011/2012 when Blazing Eternity reformed for four concerts in Denmark and Germany.  After this, the band went into hiatus but secretly started working on new material in 2018. But with big challenges in the process. First the death of vocalist Peter Mesnickow's long-time wife Lilja, and secondly the death of Blazing Eternity live-keyboardist Jens Hansen. Two events that have affected the new songs a lot – but at the end leading to the brand-new album "A Certain End Of Everything". to be released in April 2024.  Recorded with Jacob Gundel (Withering Surface, Invocator etc). Mixed and mastered by Markus Stock Schwadorf (Empyrium, The Vision Bleak, Alcest, etc), who also produced the first two albums by Blazing Eternity.  Blazing Eternity is confirmed for Metal Magic Festival (DK) and Næstved Metal Fest (DK) in 2024, but more live performances will be announced later.

"I absolutely loved to mix and master this album of my old friends Blazing Eternity. Not just because of reasons of nostalgia but because it is an absolutely beautiful and soulful album that lives in the past and the here and now" Markus Stock Schwadorf.

Peter Mesnickow - vocals

DECEPTION
Be Headed On Your Way (single)
Mighty Music
Radio Impact: 21 February 2024
Release: 1 March 2024

Feb 21, 2024

For fans of Wintersun, Septicflesh, Blood Red Throne

With their impending upcoming album, Norwegian melodic extreme metallers DECEPTION are about to take a bold step forward towards the top of the food chain in the scene. And their new digital single “Be Headed On Your Way” shows exactly why.

Straight to the point progressive, symphonic death metal, “Be Headed On Your Way” drags you into a world full of tension and doesn’t ever let you go.

With their upcoming, fourth studio album “Daenacteh”, Norwegian melodic death metal band Deception are broadening their creative songwriting. The result is a bigger sound with more experimental passages and more harmonic content than ever before in the Stavanger collective, while they’re looking to dive deeper into the international market to expand their audience.

With lyrics and music of taking you the listener on a journey through the desert following a young woman trying to care for her family in a brutalitarian state during a national emergency, “Daenacteh” hits the spot on grandiose, epic melodic death metal with the right amount of symphonic influences.

Drawing inspiration from bands like Wintersun, Septicflesh and Blood Red Throne, Deception create brutal, hard hitting, technical music surrounded by dark, beautiful and majestic soundscapes with the use of orchestral instruments and synths. After two initial full-lengths, “The Mire” (2021) was the first album going in this direction and was well received both nationally and internationally. Throughout their career, Deception have toured abroad, headlined multiple national tours and have supported acts such as Hypocrisy, Insomnium, Testament and Entombed among others.

Recently, the band got an extra spotlight after singer/guitarist Sindre Wathne Johnsen was announced as Blood Red Throne’s new singer.

“Daenacteh” will be released on LP (black vinyl, limited to 300 copies) and digital formats via Mighty Music on March 22nd, 2024.

Mike Tramp
Mand Af En Tid (Single)
Target Records
Radio Impact: 20 February 2024
Release: 1 March 2024

Feb 20, 2024

Mike Tramp stands by himself on the third single from the upcoming album

On March 15, MIKE TRAMP will release his second ever album with exclusively Danish songs. The title of the album is "Mand af en tid", and the album's title track is already being released for radio and streaming.

While several of Mike Tramp's other songs revolve around childhood and growing up, "Mand af en tid" is a flag down in the present with the following characteristics of the singer himself: Stiff-necked, stubborn and retro, but really okay.

"I often feel like a spectator to the world and don't always feel like I belong. No one has time or patience anymore. There are always new bands and reality-show stars who grab their fifteen minutes of fame but really that's not for me. Therefore, I learned long ago that the only thing I can do is to stand up for myself”.

Like the rest of the album, the song "Mand af en tid" was written with Lars Daneskov and produced together with Søren Andersen. The song also features Claus Langeskov, Søren Skov, Kenni Andy and Emily Garriock.

In connection with "Mand af en tid" Mike Tramp goes on a Danish tour.

"Mand af en tid" will be released on 15 March this year and will be followed by a tour around the whole country.

The album is released on CD, LP and digitally and can be ordered at: https://targetshop.dk/miketramp, where all pre-orders are signed.

Radio Impact: 21 November 2023
Release: 16 February 2024

Feb 18, 2024

For fans of Amon Amarth, Dark Tranquillity, Unleashed

VANIR is one of Denmark’s most prominent melodic death metal bands and has, since the band’s inception, released six full-length albums. And now, they’re ready to unleash their seventh beast, titled “Epitome”.

The theme of this new opus is the Danish middle-ages, with two songs branching into the Renaissance (“Wood Iron And Will” and the early middle-age “Blood Eagle”). The core of the album’s theme is the throne and the battles fought to keep it or to cement its power.

The first single of the album, “Twisting The Knife”, was written about The Stockholm Bloodbath, which was a trial that led to a series of executions in Stockholm between 7 and 9 November 1520. The siege of Arkona in 1169, led by the Danish and Pommeranian forces under Valdemar I is the beginning point for “Fall of Arkona”. Finally, a song about strength, valour and courage (“One Man Army”) completes the singles trilogy of the record.

The “Epitome” album cover is a depiction of the Danish queen Sorte Grethe (Black Greta). In her own time, Margaret had a reputation as a competent and enlightened regent. Regent Margaret was faced with the unresolved conflict between the crown and the archbishop. The song “Sorte Grethe”, on the album, is about a bloody battle where 12.000 men were killed to protect her sons’ right to the crown.

Vanir has been around for more than 10 years and has evolved a lot since the band's beginning. With the last three records, and now with “Epitome”, Vanir shows its hard edge and catchy melodic death metal.

From the Sagas of old to the halls of kings and the bloody battlefields, Vanir’s music has been put together, without compromise, with a fascination with Scandinavian common origins, and the blood spilled throughout history.

“Epitome” will be released on CD, LP (black vinyl, limited to 300) and digital formats via Mighty Music on February 16th, 2024.

UNSHINE
Karn Of Burnings
ROCKSHOTS Records
Release: 22 March 2024

Feb 15, 2024

Rockshots Records is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of "Karn of Burnings" the fifth studio album from the extraordinary druid metal band, UNSHINE.

Set to make its global debut in March 2024, UNSHINE's fifth album, "Karn of Burnings" assures an enthralling voyage delving into the realms of pre-modern human existence and posthuman metaphors, characterized by their signature blend of melodic Nordic folk elements and the ethereal vocals of Susanna Vesilahti.

With eight tracks, each representing a living entity from different eras, the album spans 45 minutes of melodic storytelling. UNSHINE believes that fans will be pleasantly surprised by the album's offerings, promising a unique and unpredictable listening experience.

Today marks the release of the first single, "Hjul" and its accompanying video from "Karn of Burnings"

"Hjul" is not just a song but an entire album in a metaphorical sense. A ritualistic composition in both its musical and lyrical tautology, "Hjul" mirrors the cyclical nature of seasons and mythical themes. Like the changing seasons in the cycle of the year, the musical and mythical themes and names recur again and again, creating a mesmerizing experience for the listener commenting Harri Hautala

JD MILLER to drop new album "Empyrean" in May

Feb 15, 2024

The wait is over. JD MILLER is finally ready to release its fourth studio album, titled "Empyrean". After hitting the airwaves with singles such as "Inside the Night", "Enemy" and "Out Of Control", the stakes are high for the Swedish four-piece. But, then again, JD Miller has always been on top of their game – and it's no different in "Empyrean". In fact, quite the contrary.  With guitar player Tommy Timonen (ex-State Of Drama) back in the lineup and Jonny Trobro (Hydra, Find Me, ex-First Signal) as a permanent new bassist, the foursome from Borås spread their sound, to a heavier sound scope (just listening to the opening track "The Butterfly" and you'll get a view of the heaviest JD Miller ever), but also more accessible, modern tracks such as "Out Of Control" or "Alive".  "Empyrean" is a ride that totally justifies the "Heaviest AOR around" proclamation done by Sweden Rock Magazine, with a twist. JD Miller is now a mature band, keeping however the fresh approach to composition and lyrics. "The songs and album focuses on a story about the complex minds of people considered to be at the wrong side of the law in the universe", the band states. "The story is accompanied by the music we love in JD Miller, drawing influences from hard rock, metal, AOR and anything that's get's us going melodically".  The album was mixed and mastered by Mikael Andersson at MRG Production/Studio Soundport, in Sweden, to give it the extra punchy sound that the melodies require, making "Empyrean" the dark horse of 2024, no matter what angle you look at it: hard rock, metal, AOR or whatever.  "Empyrean" will be released on CD and digital formats on May 10th, 2024 via Mighty Music. Pre-orders are available here. A new single from the album, titled "One In A Million", will be out on Friday next week, February 23rd. It can be pre-saved here.

VICINITY
Distance (single)
Uprising Records
Radio Impact: 14 February 2024
Release: 23 February 2024

Feb 14, 2024

For fans of Threshold, Circus Maximus, Haken

After announcing their new album “VIII”, Norwegian progsters VICINITY will now release a new digital single - the second - from the upcoming record. “Distance” is the chosen song this time. A direct, riff-based track, with a verse almost leaning into synthwave. The lyrical theme dwells on some of the darker tendencies of the human psyche. The song leans both into traditional prog metal bands like Threshold, as well as newer acts like Haken.

Out of Trondheim, on the cold shores of Norway, Vicinity has been crafting their mix of progressive metal, melodies and sophisticated rhythm patterns since 2006. Now reaching their third studio album, the five-piece has reached the perfect mix in their sound. “VIII” is a mature progressive metal album, with a fresh approach to composition.

Putting new influences to work in their already highly rich melting pot of references, “VIII” is a collection of progressive metal songs where the Norwegians drifted to a heavier, more concise sound than in the previous releases. The final result can please traditional prog fans of bands such as Threshold, as well as followers of newer acts such as Haken.

Mixing duties in “VIII” were handled by Øyvind Voldmo Larsen (Seventh Wonder, Circus Maximus, Withem) and mastering was done at Fascination Street Studios by Tony Lindgren (Ihsahn, James LaBrie, Leprous, Opeth).

Vicinity was founded in 2006 by Kim-Marius H. Olsen, Frode Lillevold and Kristian Nergård. Vocalist Alexander K. Lykke soon joined the blend making the first complete lineup. With the EP “Diffusion of Innovation”, the band’s first official release, Vicinity found its true style, writing longer, more technical progressive compositions.

In 2012 the band recorded their debut full-length album, “Awakening”, making this the debut recording of the new bass player Pierre Schmidt-Melbye, who joined the band following Nergård’s departure in 2009. Reidulf Wormdal joined the recording as a session keyboard player. The album was mixed by André Alvinzi and mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios, and was released by Indie Distribution and Pug-Nose Records in the fall 2013.

In 2015 Vicinity went to work with their new album “Recurrence” which was released by Mighty Music in 2017.

Vicinity tried out vocalist Erling Malm (Articulus, Endolith) at a live show in Trondheim, and decided then and there that he would be the vocalist going forward, and he immediately started working on vocals for “VIII”, adding more diversity to the singing department of the band.

“VIII” will be released on double LP (black vinyl), CD and digital formats via Uprising Records on March 8th, 2024.

Lineup:
Frode Lillevold - drums
Erling Malm - vocals
Ivar A. Nyland – keyboards

JUNKYARD DRIVE release new album "Look At Me Now" in April

Feb 13, 2024

JUNKYARD DRIVE is more energetic than ever before. The new album, with the title "Look At Me Now", presents a band with new energy and inspiration. On "Look At Me Now", Junkyard Drive rolls out ten high-octane rock tracks, delivered with flair, precision and lots of energy. "Look At Me Now" welcomes two new guitarists: Oliver Hartmann and Kristoffer Kristensen. Both come with experience from genres other than rock, and that brings new ideas to the table during the songwriting process.  "Since we released "Electric Love" in 2022, we have gone through a process that can be heard in the new tracks", lead singer Kristian Johansen offers. "We are tired of rock music always being put in the booth with draft beer and festivity. We want to show that rock music can develop and that it can contain sensitivity and depth. That's why we had to go inside ourselves, to write texts that were more honest and that have something more at heart. When you go into yourself, you also have to come face to face with your own weaknesses. It can be a hard, but also very learning process. We have experienced that it has also taken a toll on the band's internal relationships as you go through topics that can be tough, but we are incredibly proud to have gone through the process, because the lyrics and sound we have created have more layers than we have previously performed".  "Look At Me Now" was produced by Soren Andersen (Glenn Hughes, Thundermother) and will be released in LP (black and red vinyl editions, the latter being limited to 500 units) CD and digital formats on April 12th, 2024. Pre-orders are available here. The first single from the album, "Tearaway", is out now and can be streamed here. The official video is available here.

JD MILLER
One In A Million (single)
Mighty Music
16 February 2024

Feb 7, 2024

For fans of Nickelback, Van Halen, Def Leppard

After bringing a set of very promising singles paving the way for the new album, Sweden’s rockers JD MILLER release the best of them all: “One In A Million”.

The song “One In A Million” is a banger that makes me feel like Nickelback, Van Halen and Def Leppard had a threesome and from that sprung a bastard child”, laughs singer Peter Halldén. “If that’s good? We have no idea but JD Miller thinks so and that’s all that really matters. The story of the song is about a narcissist who can’t comprehend that anyone or anything needs someone else than him in the depths of night…”.

Written together by the band and Swedish songwriters Emil Gullhamn (Kaiak, State Of Drama) and Ulrick Lönnqvist (Kent Hilti, One Desire etc.), “One In A Million” was recorded at JD Miller’s studios in Borås. It was later mixed and mastered at MRG Production/Studio Soundport, Ulricehamn by Mikael Andersson.

“One In A Million” is taken from JD Miller’s upcoming album “Empyrean” to be released in May 2024.

Lineup:
Peter Halldén - lead vocals, backing vocals
Emil Eriksson - guitar, keyboards, drums
Tommy Timonen - guitar
Jonny Trobro - bass guitar

TYGERS OF PAN TANG release album "Live Blood" in April 2024

Feb 6, 2024

Mighty Music is proud to announce the release of a live album by the TYGERS OF PAN TANG, to be called "Live Blood". Stalwarts of the NWOBHM, the Tygers are currently celebrating eight years with Mighty Music during which time they have released three well-received new albums, the most recent of which "Bloodlines", was met with universal critical acclaim in 2023. The band, with guitarist Robb Weir at the helm, along with long-serving members Jack Meille (vocals) and Craig Ellis (drums), includes their two recruits for "Bloodlines": guitarist Francesco Marras and bass player Huw Holding. "Live Blood" includes material from across the band's career, including songs from their first four albums with MCA Records plus their last four albums of new material.

Jack Meille comments: "Recording a live album after all this time with the Tygers? I never thought I would experience it but with the Tygers Of Pan Tang I have learned that the "impossible" is possible. "Live Blood" captures all the energy we deliver while playing our favorite songs live and raw!".

The recording was made at The Patriot venue in Wales UK during the summer of 2023 and will arrive as a single CD and a double vinyl featuring additional tracks. The album will be preceded by the release of two singles: the live favorite "Gangland" from their legendary "Spellbound" album and the hidden gem "Keeping Me Alive" from "Ambush".

We will leave the final word with Robb Weir: "Every time we play a show we are asked when we are going to record a new live album. Our live show adds a new dimension to the old songs and allows us to stretch out a bit on the newer numbers".

"Live Blood" will be released on LP (black vinyl) CD and digital formats on April 26th, 2024 via Mighty Music. Pre-orders are available

PRESS RELEASE Raw, unpolished, straight in your face

ARTILLERY release "Raw Live (At Copenhell)" today

Feb 2, 2024

ARTILLERY is not a band of many live albums, In fact, in over four decades, they have put out just one. Until now. So, when it's bound to happen, it should be special. Enter "Raw Live (At Copenhell)", out today. Recorded in 2022, just coming out of pandemics lockout, in one of the biggest metal festivals in their home country (and among the biggest metal festivals in Europe!), the live set by the Danes was impeccable. Sadly, it was also one of the last live appearances by drummer Josua Madsen, who was killed the next year in a car accident. It also marks a turning point for the veteran thrashers, who recently said goodbye to vocalist Michael Bastholm Dahl and guitar player Kraen Meier and are looking forward to an exciting new era ahead. But, for now, let's bow before Josua's monster performance at Copenhell in 2022 and hear it from Artillery's guitar player and founder Michael Stützer about the release.

"
The year was 2022, we got the offer to play at one of the world's absolutely coolest metal festivals: Copenhell. Everything had been destroyed by COVID-19 in the years before. So, 2022 was the year we got busy.

Big festivals contacted us, German TV and so on. Rockhard, Sweden Rock, Brutal Assault and Copenhell.

Copenhell was big for us. To share the stage with bands like KISS, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Mercyful Fate, Judas Priest, it hardly gets bigger. We sat down and decided to get the concert recorded, it had to be as raw as possible, authentic as hell and the hope was to be able to use the tracks as bonuses for future releases. Maybe as a live release. When we received the recording, we thought that the recording should be released as a concert, not as bonus tracks. Søren Andersen, our permanent producer, was put on the case. Sound levels had to be fixed a bit, but that was it. Søren said at one point, "Damn, Josh is ON FIRE!". And he was!

Denmark's biggest music magazine Gaffa gave the concert 5/6 stars and the headline was "The man is busy". Josh played better than ever. Josua was killed in a car accident in 2023. Now the album is released, a little late, yes, but it's a recording, which is as it should be when talking about Artillery. Raw, unpolished, straight in your face. Hence the name of the live record: "Raw Live (At Copenhell)".

Artillery has been around for more than 40 years. The final chapter has not been written yet; just wait, there is more to Artillery. For example, a Metalized tour with friends from Manticora and new singer Martin Steene, known from Iron Fire and Force of Evil, as well as a larger USA tour. The album is a tribute to Josh, as well as a clenched fist in the air to our fans. Thanks Satan. Thanks to Mighty Music.

"Live Raw (At Copenhell)" is out today on CD, LP (black vinyl) and digital formats. It can be ordered
